👀 I searched your question. Siri said “Polenta “ was the food eaten in Italy in the 16th century. Before tomatoes 🥰 I would not know that had I not watched your channel. Thanks for raising the question. 👀I just had to search and see for myself 👀 Oh great! Now I need to search how tomatoes came to Italy? Thanks.

We have a small weed here in Western Oregon that goes to seed very early in the spring. When it seeds, you can walk through it and the seeds pop out and fly everywhere! So, one year I had a huge problem with it and could see the seeds laying on my garden soil, so I burned the dickens out of it and what a huge difference it made! That weed is very minimal now, all without pesticides on my garden! Good video!!

Digging it up works well to get rid of a lot of it. Right now I have it all over my entire front yard. I'm testing different methods in different areas. So far, for in between cracks of bricks or concrete using roundup is working better than pulling. In bigger empty areas, I dig up as much of it as I can and I have been starving it of water. The nuts can live for two years being dormant under ground. Its summer here and its been high 90s and I haven't watered in weeks. I turn the soil every week or two which exposes the nuts and then they cook in the summer heat until I come turn the dirt again to expose more. The best, easiest, and most effective method is to cover them in cardboard and then a thick layer of mulch. You cannot leave any gaps. I make the cardboard at least 4-5 layers thick. I'm not kidding if there is even a sliver where it thins out or separates, they will burst through the crack and push through the mulch. From what I have read, each nut can produce a plant 3 times. The first time it uses 60% of its energy, 2nd time 20%, and third time it usually uses its last 20%. So if you keep picking or scraping the plants up then they will thin out. This has been working well for me also but its a long process and if they continue to get watered through it then its going to be tough to keep up. Once they produce 5 leafs, they will start to reproduce and make more nuts under ground. My nut sedge can put out 5 leaves in less than a week. Its a tough battle but I'm winning thanks to cardboard and summer.

I’m in Phoenix. Bought a plant about a month ago, repotted it, went inside for a couple hours, went back outside, tomato dead! Had a second baby plant with it which I potted and babied under grow light until big enough to repot. It is growing under grow lights in my house along with my citrus trees and a banana plant. I need an all weather green house but at 81, don’t see that happening.

I live in Liverpool, Texas, and I know what you mean about the bugs. I've been picking my tomatoes when they just start to blush because i don't want the bugs to eat them. I use Dr. Bonners peppermint soap on my garden for the club footed bugs. It does help but needs to be done every week until they're under control. I love watching your videos and I learn so much from you.

On the big barrels couldn't you add a spigot at the bottom of the barrel and run what you need into a sprinkler can and then dilute it with fresh water? Of course you would have to put a screen in place to keep from clogging up the spigot. Need to get me some big barrels, I'm sure my watermelons would love this stuff!

Take a clean yoghurt container and put a sewing needle through the bottom. Fill it with water and see how long it takes to empty. That will give you the time it will take to empty and you can work from there to decide how big a container you actually will need--a pint, a quart, a gallon, multiple gallons, etc.
